Health Safety and the Environment

Above-ground petroleum storage terminals have operated safely in the Port of Mobile for over eight decades, and Federal environmental protections in the Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act have meant vast reductions in the daily air and water pollutants once associated with more abundant paper manufacturing in the area. These former sites are now being redeveloped with cleaner, more modern and highly regulated industries, such as oil and gas storage, that strengthen Port trade and bring new jobs and improved quality of life for our region.
